After a quick UX research (interviews with students), and also based on my experience with the system, I chose to focus on two main goals for the prototype:

First was to make the existing system usable on a smartphone, so I worked on an app prototype.

Second was to expand the information structure of the existing system, so it could function as a unified information source for a student. This meant incorporating a calendar, academic staff contacts, mail, and the library's web portal.
